Hello Everyone, JustJo here Welcome to my first post on what I hope will be an entertaining and maybe even a therapeutic experience for our readers. I will turn 60 in the next couple of weeks and I have worked in a variety of jobs and industries that include medical, brokerage and even retail. The one thing that every job I ever held has in common regardless of industry is they have all brought good and bad experiences.
Like most of you I have seen my share of managers adding more work to my already overworked schedule (then seeing those same managers try to take full credit for the work I actually did for them), fellow employee meltdowns, rude customers, attempted intimidation by management and more. When I was younger I didn't really know how to handle these issues but as I've gotten older and hopefully wiser I know what to look out for and try to head off issues early on.
But enough about me, I want this blog to be about you and your stories. I invite you to share your worst workplace experiences and if you have friends or family who have their own workplace woes, please invite them to share theirs too. In my case, I found the first time I shared my own employment tales of woe it made me start to focus on what I would rather be doing in my work life. In my case it was being able to be semi retired (which I archived in 2021) and have time to learn a new language as well as pursue other interests and ideas I didn't have time to do earlier in life. I hope by sharing your experience here you will be inspired to not just vent but to also stop to think about what would make you happier then make a plan and find satisfaction of your own.
